I spent the last few weeks kind of wondering what I wanted to do as far as art goes, for the final release. I was toying with a black background, with just simple font over the top.
"Sudden Suspension
Guelph, ON / Pavement"
Nothing special.
About a week ago, I was looking at a photo from our last tour, of Blake, Griffin, and I in front of the van at the beginning of the run, and I thought a lot about how I’m going to miss them, not that they won’t be in my life anymore, but there will absolutely be a bit more distance between us all. I was looking at the photo, and thinking about these songs that we made together almost a year ago now in September. I was thinking about all the things we’ve done together, the shows, the tours, and how so much of my life is a result of the lives of these two people. That’s how I want to remember the goodbye, as a product of a hello, as a product of years of conversations and adventures with two of my favorite people in the whole world. I will remember Sudden Suspension as the friends I made and the things we experienced together. Here we are being happy and excited, it’s not something I get to feel most days, but sometimes you’re lucky enough to have people in your life who can help you feel it on some of your days. This is the artwork, because when one of these songs comes on shuffle, I want to see the two people who helped me make them. Thank you to anyone who let us make noise for you. - Brandon S.
